The best business mobile phone is rarely the one with the best camera. It is the one that keeps getting security updates for as long as you use it, that you can enrol in device management on day one, and that suits the job the person does. This guide gives our shortlists by role and budget, chosen only from phones on sale in the UK in October 2026, with the published facts behind each pick.
Prices are manufacturers' launch prices or UK store prices and are indicative only: several phones now cost more than at launch, and business and network pricing differs. If you are still choosing a platform, start with our iPhone vs Samsung vs Pixel for business comparison.

What makes a phone good for business
Five things matter more than headline specs:
- A published security support period. Under the UK's Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure (PSTI) regime, manufacturers must publish the minimum length of time a phone will get security updates. Our guide to business phone security update periods explains how each brand counts it.
- Cyber Essentials fit. The Cyber Essentials requirements (v3.3), in force since 27 April 2026, put mobile phones in scope and require software to be "licensed and supported", with high-risk and critical fixes installed within 14 days.
- Device management. Every company phone should be enrolled in mobile device management (MDM), so you can enforce a passcode, push apps and lock or wipe it remotely; see our Microsoft Intune guide.
- SIM flexibility. An eSIM (a digital SIM) makes setting up and moving numbers easier; a physical SIM slot keeps older processes working.
- Durability and battery. An IP68 rating, a large battery and, for site work, a rugged build.
Best all-rounders
For most office, sales and hybrid staff, our shortlist is the iPhone 17, Galaxy S26 or Pixel 11. All three are rated IP68, take a physical SIM as well as an eSIM, and have at least five years of published security support.
- Apple iPhone 17. On sale since 19 September 2025, with a 6.3-inch screen, the A19 chip and 256GB as standard. It launched at £799 (Apple's UK launch price, indicative); Apple's UK store listed it from £899 on 27 October 2026. Apple's UK PSTI statement promises a minimum of five years of support from that first UK supply date.
- Samsung Galaxy S26. On sale since 11 March 2026, with a 6.3-inch screen and a 4,300mAh battery, from £879 for 256GB (Samsung's RRP, indicative). Samsung's UK product pages give security updates until 28 February 2033. Press reports (SamMobile and GSMArena, October 2026) say Samsung has since raised UK S26 prices, so check the current price.
- Google Pixel 11. On sale since 20 August 2026, with a 6.3-inch screen, 256GB as standard and a 4,985mAh typical battery. It launched at £879 (press-reported launch price, indicative), still its Google Store UK "from" price on 27 October 2026. Google gives seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates, counted from first sale on the US Google Store: August 2026 for the Pixel 11 family.
Also worth a look: the Galaxy S26 FE, on sale since 4 September 2026 from £699 for 128GB (press-reported launch price, indicative), with a 4,900mAh battery, IP68 and security updates until 30 September 2033, later than the S26 itself. The iPhone Air is another option, but it is eSIM-only and its price has risen from £999 at launch to £1,099 on Apple's UK store on 27 October 2026 (launch and store prices, indicative).
Best for leadership and power users
For directors and heavy users, the bigger batteries and storage of the top models are easier to justify.
- Apple iPhone 18 Pro or 18 Pro Max. On sale since 18 September 2026 from £1,199 and £1,299 (Apple's UK launch prices, indicative), with the A20 Pro chip, up to 2TB of storage and, by Apple's figures, up to 23 or 29 hours of typical use. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max no longer appear in Apple's UK line-up, so treat any you are offered as older stock.
- Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. From £1,279 (Samsung's RRP, indicative), with a 6.9-inch screen, up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage, a 5,000mAh battery and updates until 28 February 2033. It is also sold as an Enterprise Edition with a three-year warranty.
- Google Pixel 11 Pro XL. From £1,279 (press-reported launch price, indicative), with a 6.8-inch screen, a 5,115mAh typical battery and seven years of updates.

Best foldables for business
Foldables suit people who review documents on the move, but cost more and need more care.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8. A 7.6-inch main screen, 5.5-inch cover screen and 4,800mAh battery at 201g, from £1,699 (Samsung's RRP, indicative), on sale since 7 August 2026, with updates until 31 July 2033. The Fold8 Ultra (from £1,899 RRP, 8.0-inch main screen) shares the same end date.
- Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold. An 8-inch inner and 6.5-inch outer screen, from £1,799 (press-reported launch price, indicative), with seven years of updates.
- Apple iPhone Duo. On sale since 23 October 2026 from £1,999 (Apple's UK launch price, indicative), with a 7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch outer screen and Apple's minimum five years from that date. It is eSIM-only.
One practical difference: Samsung rates its foldables IP48, while Google and Apple rate theirs IP68. IP48 is not a dust-tight rating, which matters for phones that live in vans or on site.
Best value phones for a fleet
For a whole team, the sweet spot is a mid-priced phone with a long support window. Our shortlist is the iPhone 17e, Galaxy A37 or A57, and Pixel 10a. All are IP68 and take eSIM alongside a physical SIM.
- Apple iPhone 17e. On sale since 11 March 2026, with a 6.1-inch screen, the A19 chip and 256GB as standard. It launched at £599 (Apple's UK launch price, indicative); Apple's UK store listed it from £699 on 27 October 2026.
- Samsung Galaxy A37 and A57. On sale since 10 April 2026, both with 6.7-inch screens and 5,000mAh batteries. The A37 launched at £399 and the A57 at £529 (Samsung's RRPs, indicative), with 128GB Enterprise Editions at £409 and £489. Both get six years of security updates, to 31 March 2032. Samsung's UK launch release says the A57 Enterprise Edition gets seven years, but a Samsung Switzerland business list shows six, so get the longer figure confirmed in writing.
- Google Pixel 10a. On sale since 5 March 2026, with a 5,100mAh typical battery and seven years of updates from March 2026. It launched at £499 for 128GB (press-reported launch price, indicative); the Google Store UK listed it from £599 on 27 October 2026.
Samsung's UK business page adds a caveat: its two-year product life cycle "may not be ensured" for A3x, A2x and A1x models in Europe. If you want to keep buying the same model for new starters, ask about availability.
Best phones for field and site staff
Trades, logistics and site teams need a phone that survives drops, dust and rain. Our shortlist is the Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro or Crosscall CORE-M6. Our rugged phones roundup compares more models, and our guide to mobile devices for field staff covers data and coverage.
- Samsung Galaxy XCover7 Pro. £559 (Samsung's launch RRP, indicative). IP68 and built to MIL-STD-810H, with Samsung citing drops onto steel from 1.5m. It has a user-replaceable 4,350mAh battery, takes a physical SIM, an eSIM and a microSD card, and gets security updates until 31 May 2032.
- Crosscall CORE-M6. £299.90 on Crosscall's UK store on 27 October 2026 (store price, indicative). Crosscall quotes 40 drops from 2m onto concrete and IP68 in its specification table (its marketing also claims IP69K), with a 4,950mAh battery, eSIM plus two nano-SIM slots and a five-year warranty including the battery. Its security update page lists updates to December 2033; its launch release said December 2032.

Phones to approach with care
- Galaxy A27 and A17. Neither has eSIM, and they are rated IP64 and IP54 rather than IP68. Samsung's business page says security update "cadence and timelines may not be committed" for A2x and A1x models in Europe, even though their product pages list end dates of 31 July 2032 and 31 August 2031. The A17 launched at just £199 (Samsung's RRP, indicative).
- iPhone 16. Apple still sells it at £799 with 128GB (Apple UK store price, indicative), more than the iPhone 17e's £699 with 256GB. Its minimum support period counts from 20 September 2024, almost 18 months earlier than the 17e's (our calculation).
- Older or discounted stock. Check the support clock, not just the price. The original Galaxy XCover7 lists updates only until 28 February 2029, and the discounted Pixel 10 and 10 Pro started their seven years in August 2025, a year before the Pixel 11.
At a glance: current models compared
Apple and Google state a support period rather than an end date.

How to choose a business phone
Start with the support end date
Compare each phone's support end with how long you keep phones. Samsung prints a "valid until" date on each UK product page; Google counts seven years from first US availability; Apple promises at least five years from first UK supply but gives no end date and no count of iOS upgrades. Cyber Essentials requires unsupported software to be removed from in-scope devices, which in practice means retiring a phone when its support ends.
Plan device management before you buy
Apple Business, which replaced Apple Business Manager, has been free in the UK since 14 April 2026 and includes built-in MDM, but zero-touch deployment needs devices bought through Apple or an Apple Authorised Reseller. Samsung's Knox Suite Base Plan, including Knox Mobile Enrolment, comes with Galaxy purchases at no extra cost. Microsoft 365 Business Premium includes Intune Plan 1 for managing devices across platforms.
Check SIM and eSIM
In the UK, the iPhone Air and Duo are eSIM-only; other current UK iPhones keep a nano-SIM tray, although US versions of the iPhone 17, 17e and 18 Pro models are eSIM-only. Our eSIM for business guide covers setup and SIM-swap risk.
Weigh battery and repair
On a phone you will keep for five years or more, battery health becomes a cost question. The XCover7 Pro and XCover7 are the only phones here whose maker lists a user-replaceable battery. Apple quotes battery life in hours, not capacity.
Decide how to pay
Buying outright with SIM-only plans gives more control over models and timing; handset contracts spread the cost. Our guide to SIM-only vs handset contracts sets out the trade-offs, and our business network comparison helps you choose a network.
