    Cybersecurity Team MDR SIEM Monitoring

    What's included

    • Managed detection and response (MDR) monitoring of your devices
    • Endpoint protection rolled out and kept up to date
    • Email security to filter phishing and malicious attachments
    • Patching and vulnerability management on a schedule
    • An agreed process for alerts: who is contacted and what happens next
    • Regular reporting in plain English

    Not included

    • Forensic investigations, legal advice and insurance claims, which need specialist firms
    • Penetration testing, unless it is scoped and quoted
    • Certification fees for schemes such as Cyber Essentials

    How pricing works

Security services are usually priced from:

    • Monitoring and protection per user or per device, per month
    • Security tooling licences, included in the fee or passed through separately
    • Fixed-scope work such as an initial security review, quoted upfront

Incident work beyond the agreed scope is discussed with you before it starts.

    Getting started

    1. 1

      Security review

We check accounts, devices, email and backups against a practical baseline and agree the priorities.

    2. 2

      Protect

Endpoint and email protection is rolled out and multi-factor authentication is enforced where it is missing.

    3. 3

      Monitor

Devices are connected to monitoring, and alert handling and escalation contacts are agreed.

    4. 4

      Prepare

We agree what happens in an incident: who decides, who is told, and how systems are restored.

    5. 5

      Review

Regular reports show what was blocked, what needs attention and how your security is changing.

    Cybersecurity questions

What is MDR (managed detection and response)?

MDR combines security software on your devices with people who watch the alerts and act on them, so a suspicious event is investigated and contained rather than sitting unread in a dashboard.

    Do small businesses need SIEM?

Not always. SIEM gathers logs from many systems and suits businesses with more complex estates or compliance needs. For many small businesses, MDR on devices plus email security covers the main risks; we will tell you which fits.

What should we do if we think we have been hacked?

Disconnect affected devices from the network but leave them powered on, and contact your IT support straight away. If personal data may have been exposed, UK GDPR requires you to report it to the ICO within 72 hours where there is a risk to people. Cybercrime can also be reported to Action Fraud (or Police Scotland in Scotland).

Can you help us with Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed scheme owned by the NCSC and delivered by IASME. Omega IT is itself Cyber Essentials Plus certified (2026, via CyberSmart), the level that adds independent technical testing. We can review your systems against the requirements and help put the missing controls in place before you apply.

Is antivirus enough on its own?

Traditional antivirus catches known threats. Modern attacks often use stolen passwords or legitimate tools, so monitoring, multi-factor authentication, email filtering and patching together give far better protection.

Will security monitoring slow our computers down?

Modern endpoint tools are designed to run in the background with little impact. If a device does struggle, we look at the cause rather than switching protection off.
