Managed and outsourced IT support with an average response under 15 minutes
We support UK businesses from 5 to 200+ users — fully managed, or co-managed alongside your in-house team. Unlike most of the industry, we publish how our pricing works, itemise what's included and what isn't, and put response times in writing.

What's actually included in our managed IT support
The reason IT support is hard to compare is that almost nobody publishes their scope. Here is ours — including, unusually, what's not in the monthly fee. If a cheaper quote lands on your desk, check it against this list; the gap is usually hiding in the exclusions.
- Helpdesk and remote support for every covered user
- Proactive monitoring of servers, devices and network
- Patching and security updates, done on a schedule — not when someone remembers
- Endpoint protection and managed antivirus on every device
- Microsoft 365 administration, backup and licence management
- User onboarding and offboarding, including starters' devices and leavers' access
- Hardware procurement, configured before it arrives
- A named engineer contact — not a ticket number and a prayer
Charged separately — and we say so upfront
- Major projects (office moves, migrations, new servers) — scoped and quoted separately, never smuggled into the monthly fee
- Hardware and software purchases — passed through at cost with our recommendation in writing
- Development work and bespoke software — we'll say so honestly rather than dabble
Response times in numbers, not adjectives
"Fast response" is not a commitment. Ours is: an average response under 15 minutes, with issues triaged by business impact and proactive monitoring running whether or not anyone has raised a ticket. Response and resolution targets by severity are written into your agreement — if a whole-business outage and a printer niggle got the same priority, neither would be handled properly.
What IT support costs for a small business in the UK
The industry's default answer is "every business is different, contact us". True, but unhelpful — so here is how the pricing actually works. UK IT support is priced per user, per month. Most 10–50 user businesses land roughly in the £30–£80 per user per month range, and where you fall in it is driven by a handful of levers:
- User count — more users means a lower per-user rate
- Servers vs cloud-only — on-premise servers add monitoring, patching and backup workload
- Coverage hours — business hours, extended, or genuine 24/7
- Whether security tooling and Microsoft licences are included or passed through separately
- Number of sites and how much on-site time is in the plan
A worked example
A 15-user professional services firm, cloud-only (Microsoft 365, no server), business-hours cover with security tooling included, typically lands towards the middle of that range. The same firm with an on-premise server, a second site and extended-hours cover moves towards the top of it.
What the cheap quotes usually exclude: on-site visits, out-of-hours work, Microsoft 365 backup, security tooling, and anything labelled a "project". A £25-per-user quote with those billed on top routinely costs more over a year than an honest £50 one.
For comparison, one in-house IT person costs a UK business substantially more than most support contracts once salary, employer NI, pension, training, and holiday and sickness cover are counted — and they can't be in two places, or awake at 3am when the monitoring is.

Outsourced IT support vs hiring in-house
Full outsourced IT support guide → including cost comparison, what's included, and how switching works.
For most businesses under about 80 users, outsourced IT support wins on straightforward arithmetic: a whole team's breadth of expertise, holiday and sickness cover built in, and a monthly cost well below one salary. You also stop being dependent on what one person happens to know.
And honestly: past that size, or where IT is genuinely your product, an internal hire — or a co-managed model where our team backs up yours, covers leave, and handles the out-of-hours and specialist work — is often the right answer. We offer both, so we have no incentive to pretend otherwise.
Managed IT services, explained without the jargon
Break-fix support charges you when something is already broken — which means the provider profits from your downtime. Managed IT support flips the incentive: a fixed monthly fee for monitoring, patching and maintenance designed to stop failures happening, because now your downtime costs us.
That's why managed contracts are priced per user per month while break-fix is priced per incident, and why any business that loses money when its systems stop should be on a managed agreement.
Remote first, on-site when it matters
The honest split: the large majority of day-to-day issues are resolved remotely within minutes — password resets, email problems, software faults, most server issues. Hardware failures, network installations and office moves need boots on the ground, and we schedule on-site work where it's genuinely needed rather than padding the contract with visit allowances you'll never use. Remote and hybrid staff get exactly the same response as anyone in the office.
Switching from your current IT provider
This is the thing that actually stops businesses from moving, so here is exactly how it works. First, we audit your estate — devices, servers, licences, backups, security — before anything changes, so we quote against reality rather than guesswork. Then we request the documentation and admin credentials from your incumbent (a standard, routine handover request), take over monitoring and the helpdesk, and migrate remaining services on an agreed timetable. A typical switch completes within a few weeks, planned so your team keeps working throughout.
Two practical notes. Check the notice period on your current contract early — 30 to 90 days is common, and the transition can run in parallel so you're never uncovered. And if your incumbent is slow releasing credentials, we have a standard escalation process; it is your tenancy and your data, and providers know it.
You own your credentials — always. Your Microsoft tenancy, domains, licences and admin passwords are documented in your name from day one, and handed over in full, without obstruction, if you ever leave us. Plenty of providers hold clients hostage this way. We put the opposite in writing.
Security and compliance built in
Omega IT is Cyber Essentials certified (2026, via CyberSmart). Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed security baseline covering firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection and patching — and we help clients achieve their own certification, which some public-sector contracts specify — check the individual contract requirements, as they vary.
As your IT provider we typically act as a data processor under UK GDPR, and a written data processing agreement is part of how we contract — something UK GDPR Article 28 expects between a controller and processor, and something most SMEs are never told they need from their MSP.
The Microsoft 365 backup misconception: Microsoft keeps the service running, but under its shared responsibility model, protecting your data against deletion, ransomware and rogue insiders remains your obligation — not Microsoft's, under Microsoft's own shared responsibility model. We recommend and deploy independent Microsoft 365 backup because of exactly this gap.
AI-ready IT support: Copilot, security and sensible adoption
AI has moved from novelty to line item. Most UK small businesses we talk to are somewhere between "staff are quietly using ChatGPT" and "we've bought Copilot licences and aren't sure they're earning their keep". Modern managed IT support has to cover this ground, so ours does:
- Microsoft Copilot readiness and rollout — licensing, file permissions, pilot groups and staff training, so Copilot helps rather than leaks
- AI security and data protection — an AI usage policy, data-loss controls and monitoring for unapproved 'shadow AI' tools handling your client data
- AI-assisted helpdesk and monitoring — we use AI to triage tickets and spot problems earlier, which is part of how response times stay under 15 minutes
- Honest AI adoption advice — which AI tools are worth paying for at your size, and which are subscriptions you'll regret
If you want to go deeper, we run a dedicated AI consultancy service covering Copilot, AI agents and AI strategy — but the basics above come as part of being properly supported, not as an upsell.
IT support wherever your business is
We support businesses across the United Kingdom. Most support is delivered remotely — which is why response times stay under 15 minutes whether you're in a city centre or a rural business park — with on-site work scheduled where it's needed. If you're searching for IT support near you, the honest answer is that proximity matters far less than response times, scope and credentials; start with those three questions and the field narrows quickly.
